A special meeting of the above, wan held this forenoon in the Chambers, Mary street. Present—Cra BrodM'T (ill the. Chair), Porter, Bagnall, Thorbarn, Fraaer, Coutts, Deeble, Murdoch, and Bull. ; *"

The following resolution was also sanctioned .by the Council—That tbe Moanatairi Company's request for 150 feet of 20-inch mains be granted for the purpose of making the necessary connection with their battery, the cost'of laying the mains and making the connection to be borne by the company, the) mains, after being laid, to continue,the property of the Council.-. ..-•-■ ? : ." ;i v- ,j
