Dunedin Race Meeting.

TRAINING NOTES

(Pee Peess Association.) ■ - - Dunei^t, This day,

Taking advantage of the«fine weather the trainers mustered in strong force yesterday . morning, bringing out nearly all the horses to be engaged at the meeting, for a spin on the Ocean Beach. Sir Modred and the rest of Cutts' team led the way, and opened proceedings with a useful gallop in company. Ray stripped Salvage, and his two year olds, and sent the former about the Cap distance, the youngsters picking him up in the last. King Quail stripped and had a gallop by himself; bis style of going did not please the spectators much. Sir Garnet had a capital spin, moving very freely. Tasman, with his rugs on, did slow work alone. Taiaroa had a pretty fast spurt in company with Aurora. Scan's two did.some capital work, indeed the best gallop of the morning was performed by Lady Emma; and her mate, who' strode along at a rattling sijle, was full of running. 'Luna worked alone; so did the Poet. They went through a serviceable amount of hard work, looking as well as' ever. One of the last gallops of the morning was done by Somnus and Viffrffel'wlto .were .sent for a long spin ; partiofiKe distance , was done at pretty near ,fait speed; Somnus travelled in a most determined manner, and when extended shaped very well indeed; his companion also went well., Bundoora, Nonsense, and Amulet,' in their clothes, did gentle exercise. The ' weather is now apparently settled fine; course is drying rapidly. Nothing is doing in the betting pending final accept* ances.
