In the course of an address to the electors of Maldon, last night, Mr J. Mclntyre stated that he was opposed to the coalition of Constitutional and Radical parties, and urged the union of Minis-: terialist and Constitutionalists under Sir Bryan O'Loghlen and Mr Jas. Service. Mr Mclntyre declared that a Coalition Ministry under the leadership of Messrs Berry and Service would, if formed, be confronted by many opponents in the Assembly.

Messrs C. S. Ross and Co., of this city, report having sold at auction a farther portion of a cargo of kauri timber ex Ada C. Owen, at the following average prices : —Hewn logs, per 100 feet super, 10s 6d; gawn flitches, 13s. A. consignment, ex Maria Virginia, was also placed in the market, but being of bad quality the offers only averaged 11s per 100 feet super, and no sales were effected. The market is very dull. Aibant, Yesterday. The P. and O. Company's " steamer Nizam arrived in King George's Sound last night with the inward Suea mail* dated London January 13th.
