The journeymen potters are agitating to get up a company on a small scale to work the pottery. They have enlisted the aid of the Mayor of Milton. The Government have appointed Mr A. H. Ross a member of the Harbour Board. The Premier leaves for the North on Tuesday. Susan Madden has been committed for trial for attempting to commttt suicide at her husband's grave. The directors of the Standard Insurance Company recommend the payment of a dividend of 7\ per cent., absorbing £2812. There will be carried to the reserve fund £2500, and £4030 will be carried forward. The balance at disposal is thus £9343.
