At the Harbor Board elections the Borough elec'ed Neal, Yvilliams, and Hmith ; the Hawke'a Bay County, J. N. Williams andDoibess; the Waipa Counfy, Smith, M.H.B.,'aord Ormond The Wairo^ Council declined to nominate a represent tative. * I The hospital dustman has struck work, as there is no money to pay- him. If
tradespeople do'the same, for they have not been paid for months, the hospital must be closed, and forty patients turned out. At the Hawkes Bay County Council yesterday Mr- Sutton, M.H.R.,. read a telegram from Government stating that it was impossible to say what proportion of money applied for under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act would be allotted, but at the Waipawa-Council, Mr Smith, M.H.R., was able to produce a telegramjtatiogihatAalf the sums applied for will be granted.
