Criminal Sessions.

(Pee Pbbss Association.) Auckland, Yesterday. The Priestley and Hamilton alleged murder case was adjourned till to-morrow. The evidence for the prosecution is not finished yet. The case probably will finish late to»morrow night.. • One of the jurors in the Hamilton case, Mr Cook, of the Auckland Glassworks, was taken with fainting fits to-night. Dr Richardson was called in, and prescribed. The doctor states that the fits arose from the mental strain caused by the trial. Hopes are entertained that Cook will be able to hold out to-morrow, when the trial is expected to conclude.

(fbom oub own coebespondent.) Auckland, Yesterday evening. The Supreme Court did not adjourn till 6.15 to-night. The evidence was taken of persons who saw Hamilton in the York Hotel, and of. several neighbors who deposed to the relations existing between Priestley and Mrs Hamilton. One of the witnesses deposed that Priestley once told her that Hamilton had threatened to strike his wife, when he (Priestley) raised a chair, and said he would knock Hamilton down if he attempted such a thing ; Priestley editing, -"■ And I would have too, -and- jumped his life out.". It is no secret that Priestley's defence will be that he was at a brothel on the night of the supposed murder. He has a sister a prostitute, and.it is supposed that she will give the principal evidence for the defence.
