A Government Gazette issued last night contains the announcement that the designation of the Hauraki Engineers has been altered to Hauraki Rifle Volunteers.

Charles Kirkpatrick. of the Union Bank, has been appointed assayer of gold under the " Assay Act." -

A notification also appears of the appointment of Thos. Seaman as Collector of Agricultural Statistics for the districts of Thames, Coromandel, and Fiako.
