This day,

The new hall was opened last night, when fully a thousand people were present. The Mayor made a short speech, and was followed by Mr Parris. The Philharmonic Society performed " Elijah" with great success. The interior of the building is very handsome. The stage is 48 feet wide, by 30 feet'deep ; the opening in the proscenium 24 feet wide, by 20 feet high. The hall is seated in a very comfortable style, and the acoustic properties are perfect, fleywood's All Star Novelty Company open in it'on Friday.
