A plot to assassinate the chief police officials in Dublin has been discovered. Twenty "persons, charged with complicity in the conspiracy, have ': been arrested. The prisoners were brought; up'at the Dublin Police Court to»day and remanded for a week. Several of them are suspected of being concerned in the Phoenix Park and other murders.
The Homeward mails, via San Fran.cisco, which left Auckland on December 5, were delivered here to-day.
v The ship Wild Deer, from Glasgow to New Zealand, with 300 emigrants on board, baa gone ashore on North Rock, and is expected to become a total wreck. All on board are saved.
