Tasmania.
The cricket match between the English eleven and eighteen of northern Tasmania was concluded yesterday, and resulted in a victory for the Englishmen in one innings, with 75 runs to spare. C. T. Studd was the highest scorer, with 99, run out. The weather was fine, and there was a laige attendance at the match each day-

Copeland all were returned without opposition. The construction of a cofferdam round the steamship Austral for the purpose of raising her is proceeding rapidly. The General Anglican Synod met to. day, and appointed a committee io confer with regard to the election to the vacant Bishopric of Sydney. Melbotjbke, Yesterday.
