A Detective Killed.

News has been received here that a detective has been shot at and killed in Dublin by a Feniaß. The murderer was, however, surrounded tby the police and arrested, together with two others, after a severe struggle. November 27. Further details regarding the murder yesterday of a detective in Dublin are to hand. It is now known that the encounter took place in the city between a gang of 10 men, who were stated to be Fenians, and a party of six detectives, during which one of the latter was shot and mortally wouDded. His comrades fired upon the murderer, and wounded and captured him. A desperate struggle ensued, but the police ultimately effected the arrest of four of the gang. A strict inquiry is nowbeing made into the affair, which has caused great excitement and dismay in the city. The capture of the remainder of the eang has not yet been effected.
