(Pbe Peess Association.) Wangantji, This day. The Waverley-Waitotara meeting was held yesterday. The day was very cold, but the meeting was most successful, about 1300 persens being on the ground. Wavebley and Waitotara Guineas of 105sovs.. with sweep 3 guineas at post for starters to goto second horse, l^mile: J. H. Pollock's blk f Fishwouaan (Laing), 1; S. Powell's b f Last Chance (Hadfield), 2. Geo. Landseer, Dauphine, and Rally also started, and Portrait, Sweet Home, and Orphan were scratched. For half the distauce Fish woman made the running with Dauphine. Within half a mile from home Last Chance and Gem rushed up, and made a splendid finish; Fishwoman just winning, with Last Chance about half a length ahead of Gem, who was third. £253 was on the totalisator, and the i dividend was ODly £2 ss. There was £101 on totalisator, and a dividend of £4 12s. Time, 2mins. 53secs. Flying Handicap of 50sovs, f mile.— J. H. Pollock's Fishwoman, 7st (Lang), 1; K. A. Duries' Taipo, 7st 41bs (McCormick), 2; Scotch Mist, 7st 12lbs, and Hipporina, 7st 3lbs, also started ; Sincerity, Gem, and Rally being scratched. Fishwoman had the best of it from the start, but half way round Taipo shot up and kept on equal terms for a short distance, when Fishwoman again got out and won by a length. £131 on totalisator, and the dividend £5 4s. Weight for age; second horse to save stakes ; open to all horses that hare never won public money prior to date of entry.— Powell's Last Chance, 7st 61bs (McGorman), 1; G. Clout's Raphael, 7st 61bs, 2. Hipporina, Bst lllbs, and Portrait, 7st 6lbs, also started. Torpedo and Landseer scratched. A. good race ensued between List Chance, Raphael, and Hipporina till the straight was entered, when Last Chance gradually made away, and won by three or four lengths. £328 on the totalisator; dividend, £7 4s. Time, 2mins 59secs. Wavebley and Waitotaba Handicap of 150sovS;, 2 miles; second horse to receive 21 soys, and third horse ssovs from stakes. —J. Crocker's St. Clair, 7st 4lbs (Tucker), 1; J. H. Pollock's Hippodamia, Bsi lOlbs (Potts), 2; J. H. Pollock's Larry, 7stl2lbs (Lang), 3 ; R. Higgies' Gem, 6st 81bs, 4. These were the only horses which started, Sincerity, Taipo, and Scotch Mist having been scratched. This was the best race of the day, and resulted in a boil over. Gem and Larry led for some distance with St. Clair and Hippodamia next in order. The order was unbroken till the last round was half covered; St. Clair then assumed the lead, followed by Hippodamia, the latter threatening to pass St. Clair. Suddenly she slackened and showed done up. The excitement at the finish was immense. £350 was on the totalisator, and as only eight were on the winner a dividend of £38 5s was declared. Time, 3mins 48|secs.

Fobced Handicap of 75sovs, once round.—J. H. Pol look's Larry, Bst, 1 ; CA. Durries' Taipo, 7st, 2. Parnell, 6st 71bs, also ran. £158 on the totalisator, dividend, £5 11s.
