Gellion Samuel Turtle. The Hand of Friendship, wbieb consists of about three acres, adjoins the Prince Imperial and Waiofahi mines, and is situated close lo where the rich gold is now being obtained. The Beach Leader, from which the splendid returns are bow being got, runs from the Prince Imperial into the finnd of Friendship, and is worked within a Bhort distance of the boundary ©f the former claim. The Mariner's Reef of the Prince Imperial, and from which large deposits of gold have ! been obtained, also traverses the Hand of Friendship, besides other reefs which have yielded rich returns. . The Hand of Friendship is traversed by a large extent of these reefs in their direct course to the East as well as by their " underlay " to the NorthIt is proposed to work the Claim by arrangement with the Prince Imperial through the shaft of that mine, and .to drive along the Beach Leader, which is now being opened out in the various levels running in the direction of the Hand of Friendship. ' By this meanß a depth below the surface of the Hand of Friendship would be obtained (at the level where the gold iB now being got) of about 450 feet. It may be mentioned as a point iv favor of the Hand of Friendship that the 640 feet level of the Deep Level Company is driven to within about 60 feet of the boundary of the mine. There is also a good Battery constantly at work withia about the same distance and to which a tramway leads from the olaim. It may be remarked that the Waiotahi Mine, which adjoins the Hand of Friendship on the north, has been for a bng time one of the best paying properties on the Thames, ! while the market value of the Prince Imperial | is at the present moment about £40,000, and and as upwards of 30cwt. of specimens have been obtained withia the past few days from that mine the prospects of the Hand of Friendship may be considered as first rate. Plans showing the position of the Sand of Friendship, Prinoe Imperial, Waiotahi, Southern Cross, Mariner, London, Queen of England, and Queea of Beauty mines may be obtained at the office of the broker*. The Promoters reserve to themselves ilte right of beginning operations as soon as a sufficient amount of capital shall Jtave been subscribed. JUST RECEIVED ■' : ."'■•- AT . W.
