[Pbb Pbess Association.] Chbistchtjhch, Yesterday. There was fine weather for the races on Tuesday, and an attendance of about 3000. The favorites won in every race, and the finishes were most exciting, but the second day was showery. Fbkb Handicap, a sweepstake of 3sovs each, with lOOsovs added, one mile:— Sir Modred, 5 years, 9st 21bs (H. Thomson), 1; Hilda, 5 years, Bst 2lbs (Wattie) 2; Siesta, 3 years, 6st 91bs (G. Williams), 3. The race was won by two lengths. Time, lmin. 45|secs. Tub Debet Stakes, sweepstake of 20sots each, with 250sovs added, for three-year-olds, 1| mile: — Cheviot, Bst - lOlbs (Derritt), 1; Nonsense, Bst slbs (Webster) 2; Leos, 9st lOlbs (Wattie), 3. Won with the greatest ease in 2mins. 45£seos. CJ.Ci Handicap, a sweepstake of 20sovs each, with 580sovs adde-i, two miles : Mr J. Lunn's Welfeome Jack, by Traducer—Miss Flat, 3 years, 6st 51 bs (Butler), 1; Messrs Mason and Vallance's O cßundarra, 4 years, 7st 41 bs (Williams). 2; Hon. W. The Juvenile Plate, 150sovs., 5 furlongs: Eobinson's Gudieo, 2 years, 1 ; Cntt's Water Nympb, 2 years, 2; G Bates's Minerva, 3 years, 3. Won easily by three lengths. Time, lmin. 7isecs. , The Cantebbuby Cttp, a sweepstake of 20sot8. each, with SOOsovs. added, second horse to receive 50sovs. from stakes, third horse to save his stakes: Hr Modred, 9st 51bs, 1; Cheviot, 7st Gibs, 2; Vanguard, Bst 61b8, 3. Leos and Welcome Jack also ran. The inside totalisator showed £412, with 68 tickets on the win ner. The excitement as the horses neared the post was intense, and the victory of Sir Modred was hailed with a hearty cheer. Time, 4mins. M^ecs.
