By Elkctbic Tjelegbaph.—-Copybigkht.

Melboubne, October 25.

There was a large turn out on the training ground this morning. Most of the horses did three-quarter pace work. Guesswork was going very strong inside the course, and Frying-pan, Savanaka, Segenhoe, and Prometheus were doing steady work, evidently preparing for the great trial. Lord Burghley and Jessie went twice round the course, the filly pleasing greatly by her excellent form. Cunnamulla, Sardonyx, Darebin, Bagot, and Stockwell did good useful work.

The rtimor about Sting being sold to the bookmakers is quite untrue.

Segenhoe is now at '-7 to 2, and 4 to 1 is wanted. A considerable amount of money has been investedon Sting at Bto 1. The favorites for double now are Navigator and Sting, Sweet William and Cunnamulla.

The following is to»night's betting on the Melbourne Cup :—Cunnamulla and Mistaken, 10, to 1; The Drummer, Prometheus, and Savanaka, 20 to 1.

The following is the latest betting ion the Derby:—Guesswork, 10 to 1; Boolka, 12 to 1; Frying Pan, Calma, and Prometheus, 20 to ; 1V Odds on^h|ji\ horses tjre unchanged. Mistaken and^-Little Jack hare been backed for £6000 each. ;

Mr Bouse his owner offers £1000 level that he beats both Little Jack and Mistaken.
