Mr E. T. Connolly was sworn in to-day, before His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, as Minister of Justice.

It is understood that two gentlemen in the town are willing to become sureties in the case of Adams, recently convicted of conspiracy, and who is still detained in custody.

Ministerial Movements.

It is intended that the Hinemoa shall leare here on Tuesday next for New Plymouth, thence she goes to Auckland, and takes 50 A.C.'s to be employed on the Botorua road, and to supply the place of a number of men who will receive their discharge at the end of the present month, their terms of service having expired. Hon. Mr Whitaker and family will take passage for Auckland, and Major Atkinson for New Plymouth. Mr Bryce, who leaves for Wanganui this afternoon, will join the Hinemoa at Taranaki, and go on to Auckland. Both Mr Whitaker and Major Atkinaon returns to Wellington after a short absence.
