A Runaway Wife
This day.
Some time ago a young bachelor ran away from Sydney with a young and pretty married woman. The twain came to Auckland, and have been here eight weeks. The injured husband discovered their whereabouts, and the woman's mother and sister have come after the guilty pair. The lady has refused to return to her husband, and a warrant has been issued for the arrest of the gay lothirio on the ground that he stole cer tain property belonging to the husband.
Mr G. T. Wilkinson is still at Alexandra preparing for Mr Bryce's visit.
The total amount realised at the Crown lands sales yesterday was £3318.
Intimation has been received that the Karangahape will be only merged into the city on the 22nd iost.
The receipts of Pitt street "Wesleyan Church last year were £2860. The debt on the building has been reduced to £150; in 1879 it stood at £3800.
