Fatal Accident.
Yesterday.
A sad and fatal accident occurred on the tramway this morning, about 11 o'clock. The steam engine, with two cars 'attached, was coming from the north-east Valley into town, when a little boy, named Tetter staged about 10, tU# son of a shoemaker in the Valley, who was in a bar nearest the engine, attempted to get out without giving the signal to stop. He swung right under the car, and the wheels passed over his neck and arm. His head is cut almost entirely off. The conductor was in the second car taking tickets at the time. A gentleman, who saw the lad getting off, gave the signal to stop, but it was too late to provent the accident. The body was taken to the Morgue, and au inquest will probably be held to»morrow. This day. ;
At a meeting of the creditors of Biohard Dodds Thomson, a customs officer, it appeared that the debtor was in receipt of a salary of £150 a year,,but was living at the rate of £500. He had incurred a number of debts without making any attempt to settle them. James Duncan was appointed trustee, and was instructed to represent these facts to Government.

At the City Court Pierce, Butler, and Patrick Gaiety were each fined 40s and costs, or in default a month's imprison* ment, for illegally catching trout.
In the totalisator caser the Magistrates have given judgment for the amount to be paid into Court, holding that Goodisou and the other five investors were only* entitled to one-fifth each of the amount registered. ' '";..,: ■;:- .
