CALEDONIAN.

The maoager is novr rising abore'No. 2 level on the footwall specimen leader. The face is now up some distance.and gold has been seep all the way. He has also started to drive northward at No. 1 level on a reef out on the. footwall of the No. 2 reef near the. crosscut Mr. Hicks put in to cut that lode 1 when he first took charge of the mine. This reef he believes to be the Cure No. 5; which strikes somewhat across the other lodes. It in striking towards the No. 2 reef, and the manager expects to have about 100 feet to drive before he comes upon the -junction. In driving the crosscut referred to, a number of mineral veins were passed through, which probably run into this No. 5 reef, and as it is a good looking body of stone, it is likely to make gold before it junctions with No. 2 reef. The point at which it will junction cannot be determined,,bat as it was not met with in driving, it is pro* bably ahead of the stopes worked by the manager some months ago.
