The House met at noon

Mr Levin presented a petition from the executor of the late Mr .Rhodes' estate protesting against the passing of the EhodeV Estate Bill, as an injustice would be done to parties interested, and requesting to be heard by the Committee. Mr Levin moved the prayer of the petition be granted.

Mr Seddon opposed the motion, and moved that it be referred to a select committee.

The motion for hearing counsel on Friday at the bar of the House was put and carried.

Mr Sbeehan took exception to a paragraph in the morning paper that the Opposition had stonewalled the motion for going into supply.

Mr Moss stated the papers throughout the colony had made most unfair attacks on the Opposition. ..... . Major Atkinson stated there was no obstruction on the part of the Opposition last night, on the contrary, the amend' ments in Supply were made by Govern* ment supporters.

The matter then dropped. The House adjourned at 1.15 p.m.
