MARTHA MINE.

(To the of the Evening Stab.) _ Siß,«—ln your issue of yesterday, when referring to the return from the Martha mine, you state —I presume by a P.D.s error—that "the manager, Mr 'J. H. Nicholls,' had banked 13Oozs of gold, &c." In reply, allow me to mention that I was never manager of the Martha, nor do I ever intend to be. I at one time acted as a Director of the company, but resigned office for valid reasons, which have already been made public. The present manager of the mine is Mr William Nicholl, the original prospector of Waihi. The insertion of this will oblige your old servant, J. H Nicholls.
