This day. Dr Pbilson is now considered out of danger. At a meeting of the South Frankliu electors at Pukekohe, a resolution was passed that the Waiuku-Pukekobe railway would be a shameful waste of public money, and a motion in favor of a metalled road was carried. Monday. This morning two men, named Moses Bousby, of Pukekohe, and George Stains, reported to the police that on Saturday night or Sunday morning they had been robbed of a considerable sum of money. It appears that they had stopped at the Auckland Hotel, and Bousby, on retiring to rest had in his breast pocket the sum of £33, while Stains had £6 in hia trousers pockets. On waking on Sunday morning, they found they had been robbed of all their money, with the exception of £.1 whicli had been left in Bousby's pocket book, the latter having been removed from the breast to the side pocket. This afternoon Acting-Detective Jones arrested on suspicion, a man named Thomas Binning, second mate of the recently wrecked schooner Elizabeth Curie. When searched, £24 7s 8d was found in his possession.
