Speaking at the banquet given in his honor last evening, Sir Henry Parkes strongly advocated the federation of the Australian Colonies, or at all events the union of Victoria and New South Walee. He stated that his travels had confirmed his conviction of the future prosperity of Australia. The Legislative Council has consented to a conference with the Assembly on the question of the Licenses Qualifying Bill, which was recently rejected in tho Lower House. Bbisbane, This day. In the Legislative Assembly last nigbfc the" Hon. Thos. Mcllwrath, Premier, made the Financial Statement. He estimated the revenue for the current year air £2,180,000, and the expenditure at £2,060,000. Mr Griffiths has, in the Assembly, given notice of motion in favor of payment of members of the Queensland Parliament. I Melbotjene, "Yesterday. Bank RoTrtery. It has been usoertained that a sum of £1500 in notes and cash was stolen from a
branch of the Colonial Bank of Australasia at Reedy Creek, but no trace of the robbery has yet been discovered. The particulars which are to hand regarding the robbery from the Colonial Bank at ■ Reedy Creek show, that the thieves entered the Bank and abstracted the keys of the safe from the pocket of the manager's coat. The manager was ill and asleep, and was not disturbed by the robbers.
