Wellington, Yesterday. In the Legislative Council the Union Bank Bill was read a second time.

Mr Chamberlain moved that in the opinion of the Council the Government should introduce a bill to prevent juvenile smoking. The motion was negatived. The, Width of Streets and Roads Regulation Bill was thrown out on a division.

The Small Bird Nuisance Bill was passed through the Council.
