The intelligent of the death of the Yen. Archdeacon Lush mil be received with profound regret by all sections of this community. Some possibly regarded him as too narrow in his views, and inclined to High Churchism, but be swerved neither to right nor left when he was in the path of duty. He wat a thorough gentleman, alike iv bearing, instinct, and character. Whatever his views, in him were emb died the grandest of Christian principles—to do ill to no one, and to endeavor to do all the good possible. Those there were, of course, who thought differently from him, but nose could in any respect point at him the finger sf scorn. His reputation was perfectly in consonance with his office as a minister of the gospel of l.ghtrtOUsneaß, purity, and love. He waa ailing before he left the Thames some months ago, and the removal to Walk .to did not effect any improvement. Indeed, it is said that be was stricken with grief at severing the associations which he bad formed here. Archdeacon Lueh came to the colony in 1850, and was for 25 years minister in the Howick district, and for 13 years at the Thames. The rev. gentleman was 65 years of age.
