At the Supreme Court this day, Kodriguez, for sodomy, was sentenced to seven years; Henry Goldsmith, stealing from dwelling, seven years 5 Elizabeth Davidson, bigamy, found not guilty, and discharged. At the half-yearly meeting of the New Zealand Insurance Company the report showed that after making ample provision for all liabilities, and carrying £20,00(X to the-reserve fund there remains £21^584 for division, A dividend of fifteen per cent, was? paid, and £6,584 earned forward.

Advices from the Duke of York Island state that a trader named Martin, maddened with drink, threatened to shoot the orew of the cutter Zoelia, and kept them in terror for some time. At length, the master of the Zoelia, William Stephen, fired off a rifle towards Martin, who had got into a boat and was pursuing Stephen, whom he had thrown overboard, but who had regained the deck. Whether the shot took effect does not transpire, but Martin fell off the boat and sank. His body was not recovered.
