OUR MINES.

QUEEN OF BEAUTY,

A slight rise in price of shares took place last ni^ht, the cause being, no doubt, the fact that some good stone was obtained from the winze. The gold is improving as the winze goes down, and three or four pieces were got last night carrying much coarser gold than has hitherto been found. This speaks well for the block now being opened up. • SMILE OP FORTUNE. The monthly return from this mine was brought down yesterday. The retorted weight was 2160za, the melted 2130zs 15dwts. In all 200 tons of quartz were treated, so that the return is quite up to expectations.
