The Waitoa settlers held a meeting on Saturday evening to discuss the bridge at Te Aroha and other matters. The Mayor of Thames attended by invitation, and resolutions were passed asking the cooperation of the member for the district and goldfield members in securing the erection of the promised bridge at Morgantown for the convenience of tbe settlers getting stock to Te Aroha and the Thames markets. The chairman was authorised to communicate with the members on the matter.

The town is spreading in the direction of Waiorongomai.

The Premier, Waitoki, Werahiko, and other mines are looking well for good yields.

The battery is progressing

The gale on Saturday night blew down the framework of the battery-house, and demolished a store in course of erection, on section 13, for Mr Wilson, draper. The store was nearly finished at the time. No damage was done at Ts Aroha township. .
