Calling out the Reserves. It is anticipated that owing to the redaction of the English garrison by the despatch of troops to Egypt; the Government will shortly call out the men of the army reserve for service at Home. Well Deserved Punishment. Constantinople, June 29. The native who attacked and murdered Commander Selby, 8.N., at Artaki, in February last, has been found guilty and sentenced to fifteen years' imprisonment. London, [June 30. Australins v. Leicestershire. A cricket match between the Australian team and Eleven of Leicestershire commenced at Leicester today. The weather was fine; but the wicket was heavy. The Australians went in first, and were all disposed of for 106 ; Massie (caught), 22, was tbe highest scorer. The Home team j then went in, but only made 43 off the i bowling of Spofiorfch and Palmer. The former took five wickets for 24 runs, and Palmer five for 15. When the stumps were drawn for the day, the Australians in their second innings had lost ene wicket for 8 runs. The Interests of the Empire to be Maintained. A meeting was held last night under the auspices of the Conservative party to consider the. present situation of affairs. The Marquis of Salisbury and Sir Stafford Northcote were present, and in their speeches urged the necessity of upholding the interests of the Empire at the present crisis.
