Correspondence.

(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sib,— "Be " Consistency's " letter in last Bight's isaue, " Inconsistency " would bajre beeo the most appropriate mm de plntnt. Because -anyone; would infer that Mip;Bordie had exceeded his duty and had dispensed favours were they were not earrila.:" Consistency " would look more in earnest to subscribe at once, which would'set the ball rolling, then very likely those whom he fancies have had windfalls, &c> would follow suit. Not being one of the farourites, yet I honestly believe Mr Brodie has rendered io the Thames asa whole, yaluable services which ought to be better appreciated. He is decidedly a gentleman of sterling worth and rare abilities, and but for the sacrifices he is making as a public man, he could soon make his mark in some business capacity. From my own knowledge of him, I have found that if he cannot do a person a good tutni be would scorn to ser?e him a bad one. Along with many o'hers lam sorry Mr Brodie hasl been debarred from effec-, tually serving Thames interests through the action of the electors,, and I hope this feeling may become general. I am one with " Consistency" this far, I think the friends of Mr Brodie ought to be enabled to hare an opportunity of assisting to defray his election expenses.—l am, Ad, Glue Pot.
