Mining in the Upper Country.
Te AEOHA.-The Golden Hill and Nevada, late the Monte Christo, commenced breaking down on Tuesday. The reef was broken into about 15 feet, and showed good gold throughout. The reef is 30 feet in width. The claim is said to be the best in the district.—Tribune. Owhaboa.—The Young Colonial crushing of five tons gave a return of 7ozs—-a yield very much under the great expectations which were entertained; but yet, when the width of the reef, some 30 feet, is taken into account, it must still be considered a pile claim.—lbid. Waitekaubi.—Butler and Goonan started crushing at toe Waitekauri battery on Wednesday. A good show has been found in the face.—lbid.
