Lives Lost. The ship British Navy, bound from London to Sydney, while proceeding down the channel came into collision with an unknown vessel off Deal. The former suffered severe injury aud suuk shortly after the collision. Twenty persous were on board and were drowned. Sin Fban Cisco, November 28. The Daily News to-day, publishes telegrams from Constantinople stating that in consequence of the difficulty which has arisen with the Greek Government, the Porte now threatens to order the closing of all European post offices in Constantinople. An official statement is published to the effect that prior to his execution Lefroy, the Brighton murderer, withdrew his confession that he had murdered Lieut. Roper at Chatham. Washington, November 30. The Irish National convention has again commenced its sitting at Chicago, and over one thousand delegates are present. Vienna, November 30. Telegrams are to hand reporting that further severe fighting has taken place between the Bosnian insurgent and the Austrian troops when the latter were defeated, and suffered a loss of 20 killed.|
