REEFTON.
This day. Fatal Fire. A great conflagation commenced after 2 this morning at Finlay's bakery. Properties destroyed :—Michael Dunn's furniture warehouse,,and workshop ; Frank Hampson, shop and corn store ; Finlay's shop . and bakery; George Shepherd's old butcher shop, unoccupied, owned by Dawson; Dawson's hall; Dawson's large tw;o storey hotel; Corbett's bakery and shop; Dank's hotel; Collings' (bootmaker) shop and workroom. The damages are about £15,000, very little insured. Fears are entertained that a lodger at Dawson's named Peter Alstad has been burnt. Search is now being made. , ■
Lateb. The charred remains of Peter ,Alstad were found in the debris.
