Rifle Match.
A friendly rifle match came off yesterday at the Collarbone Bange. The men were picked by the two captains; Downie and Parslow, who were the leaders of the men who fired a friendly match of 10 aside on Monday last. At that time the persons interested thought that the ten men aside were not Mifficient, and in consequence Downie and Parslow formed two teams, in each of which there were 20 shootists. The result ot this match was a victory for Parslow's team by 57 points, although it is generally believed that if the match had taken place in the manner in which it was at first intended to be, the losing team would have come off victo» rious. The victory may be mainly attributed to Paymaster Potts and Vol. Trevarthen, who fired as substitutes for two men who had been originally chosen. The weather was very bad, and a worse shooting day could scarcely have been. The match was fired for a supper, to take place in the Governor Boweu this evening at 8 o'clock. The following were the scores :—
