New Zealand securities are unchanged by 5 per cent. 10 40 loan, and 5 per cent. 1889 loan, each at 104; 4§ per cent. 1879 to 1904 loan at IOOf. Adelaide wheat (ex store) continues at 575, and New Zealand at 42s 6d; Adelaide flour, (ex store), 42s ; Australian tallow (best beef), 395; best mutton, 41s 6d. The Homeward Australian mails, which left Melbourne on October 12th, were delivered in London to-day. An alliance having been arranged between Prince Leopold (Duke of Albany) and Princess Helena, fourth daughter of Prince George Victor of Waldeck, one of the German principalities, the betrothal ceremony was celebrated at Frankfort on Saturday. London, November 21. The result of the election for Stafford has caused considerable interest and discussion not only in the neighbourhood but throughout England. The Liberals attribute Mr Salt's victory to his local influence in the Borough; the Irish, however, support the Conservatives'claim that the result of the contest must be looked upon as a crushing censure on the Government. Vienna, November 21. Count Kalnoky de Korospatik, Ambassador to the Russian Court, has been recalled from St. Petersburg to succeed the late Baron Yon Haymerle as Austro-' Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs. Pabis, November 21. At an interview held between Sir Charles Dilke, British Foreign Under Secretary, and M. Gambetta and M. Eoumier, the new Minister of Commerce, it has been decided that formal negotiations for new Anglo-French Commercial Treaty should be commenced in the middle of December.
