Eight escapees from the French penal settlements at New Caledonia have been captured at Fraser Island, off the coast of this colony, near Maryborough. Th* escapees bad beeu thirteen days at sea in an open boat. They were brought up at the Maryborough Polices G'uurt today and remanded to Btiebaue.
