[FEO3I THE COROMANDEL MAIL.] THE TIKL
Blackmore's have now fourteen men at work, and operations are once more in full swing. A drive has been started near the hopper, which will be carried through the hill, and connect with the Home Bulereef, where the winze has been sunk.. This level will most likely prove of great importance. In the winze sunk near the boundary the Home Bale reef was. found strong, and well defined large pieces of quartz were taken out, showing gold in blotches in various parts of the stone,, which is not specimen stone, bat good crushing stuff. The manager keeps up the supply of quartz to the battery, the tramway works well, and the mill appears to give satisfaction. We are informed that no picked stone has yet been put through, but can give no information as to the quantity of the latter which'has to be treated. The fact of the Home Rule reef being opened up in Blackmore's' ground, carrying good gold is of the highest importance, and speaks well* for the permanent character of the same.
Home Bule.—The result of squaring up accounts has left a very handsome sum to the credit of the Company, thus providing ample funds for the further development of the valuable lode now. in hand. The public have also to bear-in mind that this Company have. paid for their share of the battery, and. that as sufficient money is in the' bank to take out another big crushing, the entire proceeds of the latter will probably be available for dividend purposes. The low level'is being carried in, and a cross cut to the left has intersected a fine body of/stone pronounced to be the main lode. Some difference of opiuion exists as -to the boundary line between this and- Blackmore's mine.' Several rough- purveys have this week been made, and a proper one was to have taken place yesterday.-
