KUBANUI HILL.
The mine manager reports as follows; —Junction, -Shotover level i Wo change to report; leader still keeping same promising appearance in the workings; Poverty and Charleston: Crushing from here not turning out payable, the hands have been shifted to All Nations' leader on the block turned over to the Company by Johns and party, tributers. All Nations: Two men repairing tramway and clearing old pass, which will occupy a.day or two more, after which shall be able to break quartz right away, and as former tributers only appear to have taken out a narrow ruu, I think from the bright minerals contained in the leader it ought
to iurn out pretty well. The reef is a fair size. Albion : Contractors for cross* cut are now in about 48 feet from the shaft in fair country, changing to a whitish color, and more favorable looking for lodes. Winding engine working.well. —Tetos. H. The manager reports, under date Not. 12th, as follows:—•• During the past fortnight I hare had only two men em* ployed stripping the footwall and re» timbering the intermediate level. I have a large quantity of crushing stuff on hand to start with when the repairs and alterations to the battery and water race are completed, which will be about the end of this week. During the past week I have had three shifts employed in the "crosscut from the bottom level, which is now in a distance of 22 feet, and should cut the reef at any moment, Mr Bayldon'g estimate of the distance being 25 feet. I have been getting a large quantity of timber and kauri slabs on hand for future use, and getting things in better working order generally.
