Yesterday

The Hinemoa with the Wellington and Wairarapa Volunteers arrived at 5 o'clock this morning after very rough passage. Nearly all the men have disembarked. Tho Wanganui and Manawatu Volunteers who had been garrispned here have gone to Eahotu after breakfast this morning. The Auckland men went on to same place yesterday, and the Wellington Navals the day previous. The mcli landed this morning proceeded to Rahotu this afternoon. This day. Major Baillie, commanding fifty Marlborough Volunteers arrived this morning per Stella. They march at once for Pungareiiu llcmd, between here and Stoney. River, which is closed for traffic by order of Colonel Roberts, to day and to morrow.

The Wellington Engineers, Eifles» Guards, and Wairarapa Volunteers landed yrsterday morning, and inarched for Eahotu at ouo o'clock. On landing, Drs Diver and Watt, who accompanied them, were informed no more doctors were required. This matter will doubtless be fully enquired into. As usual the Volunteers left the store at Wellington only half equipped, and general complaints are made by them of the management. The ball bag is made to carry only 40 rounds of ammunition.

By advertisement in the Taranaki Herald Colonel Roberts stops all traffic on the road to Opunake and Stoney River to day and to-morrow.

Mr Northcroft, It. ML, has reported himself at Pungarehu.

The Wellington contingent march at 1 p.m. for Ilahotu, headed by the Guards band.

The Native Minister, accompanied by 40 Taranaki Mounted Rifles, visited Parihaka yesterday, and stayed a fevr minutes and returned.
