The " Glimpse " was insured for £500, and her freight for £1200 in Melbourne otiic. s. She was bound from Puget Sound to Melbourne. It is stated here that the vessel wag condemned as uuseaworthy three years ago.
This day
W. Dawson, a solicitors clerk, was this morning sentenced to three months imprisonment for beating a woman.
The Wade prosecutions havo been with drawn.
The Thames Volunteers and about 20 recruits from Auckland, left Onehuuga for Opunake by the Hinenioa at one to-day. They were enthusiastically cheered as they left the Auckland Kailway station.
A burglar broke into Mcrrick's store in Albert street last night, and stole the till containing £2 worth of small change.
