Major Harris addressed a crowded meeting of his constituents last night at Otahubu. Ht) gave a full account of his services to the district, and replied to Mrßuokland's statements regarding himself. Mr Frank Lowry contests South Franklyn against Mr Hamlin. Doctor Lemon arrived by the Ringarooma yesterday to superintend the opening of the Telephone Exchange, which has already thirty subscribers. The local newspapers have been hoaxed several times lately by bogus matrimonial advertisements. The Auckland Meat Preserving Company are about to send a trial shipment to England.
