[tfKOM OtTB OWN CORRESPONDENT.]

Auckland, This day

Mr Benjamin Mac Lean, lute Deputy Property Tax Commissioner, has been invited by several iufluential electors in North Franklyn to stand for that constituency. A well known resident at the North Shore, and who is likely to be the dark Grey horse, will be asked to fight Wood and Hurst, and I believe will be the one to first pass the political winning post. Mr ltobert Graham is spoken of as likely to oppose Sir George Maurice O'Eorke.

Private telegrams from Tauranga state that should Mr Stewart and Captain Morris go to the poll another man will go in between them.

It turns out that through some unexplained reason the Herald and Star have got all the roll printing. The AttorneyGeneral fixed the price per page, although he does nothing but draft, bills. Just like simple Freddy on the eve of a general election.

I suppose your respected County Chairman pulled a few ropes to get Mr Sheehan to decide contesting your electorate. The Coromandel boundaries, although now satisfactory to Mr Brodie, may not be so satisfactory when polling day is over for the successful " sturdy beggar." [Mr Brodie assures us that he never communicated with. Mr Sheehan on the subject, nor authorised anyone to do so. —Ed. Stae.]
