The cru hing of 24 loads of general stuff at the battery w»s finished yesterday, tlte return being 34ozs. Ti.»e q artz crushed came from the stopes 011 the specimen leader and the big reef. The latter at present looks poor, but the manager hopes it will improve as the stopes ascend. Stoping on the crossleader has been stopped, as the quartz was not payable, CALEDONIAN. The manager reports as follows : — " There is very Httlo change since last report. East Drive, No. 1 level : In breaking down tho reef to day, the indications are as favourable as ever ; if anything, there is more copper mixed with the minerals, and the reef is widening out." GOLD RETURNS. Moanataibi.—Hodge and party have crushed 9 tons of general stuff at the Kuranui Hill battery for the return of lOozs lOdwts gold.
Kubantti HiLii.—Martin Hodge and party have finished a crushing of 7 5 tons for the yield of 2ozs 3dwts gold.
