Sir Stafford Northcote, who was Chancellor of the Exchequer in theßeuconsfield administration, addressed a large meeting at Beverely, in Yorkshire to-night. In the course of his speech he referred at some length to the existing agitation on the question of au amendment of the English Land Laws, and spoke in favor of measures being adopted to re-adjust the present burdenson land. He further advocated (he adoption of the principle of compensation to tenants for such improvements aa they may make to their holdings.
