Thursday. The Harbor Board have passed a resolution requesting their servants not to take part in the coming election beyond recording their votes.

Mr S. B. Webb is announced as a candidate for Lyttelton, in addition to Messrs Richardson and Allwright. There is still no sign of candidates for Christchurch.

The .grain market is very active this week. Wheat, 4s 4d to 4s 6d ; oats, 2s 2d; for milling, Is lOd to 2s; for best quality barley, up to 3s. Dairy produce of all kinds dull.
