This was an action for the forfeiture of the Maori claim, situated at Waitete, on the ground of non-working! Plaintiff proved the pegging out, and also that the claim had not been worked, as required by the Act. Application granted.

In this case there was no appearance of either parly, so the ease was struck out.
B. NICHOLL T.J. SMITH. This was an application for the forfeiture of the Monarch claim, at Waihi, which was pegged out on the 28th July; Wm. Hollis proved the service of the summons on the defendant, who did not appear. Mr Cuff, who appeared for the plaintiff, briefly introduced the case. After some discussion with Mr Cuff, His Worship declared the ground to be forfeited, and awarded it to plaintiff. Another case for the forfeiture of the same piece of ground on a subsequent pegging-out was withdrawn. 6CANLA.K V. HOLLIS. This case, which was a claim for some shares in ihe Young Colonial, which were to have been given to plaintiff on his withdrawing his right to the Lucky Hit claim, was withdrawn.
