Latest Coromandel Mining.
Little Nell (Tiki). —The mine mana« ger reports having taken out good stuff to-day from No. 2 leader. Gold is showing freely, aad a good shot of gold is anticipated as the drive is advanced. Altogether, the mine is looking most promising, and it is conjectured that when the junction is intersected a Urge quantity of good payable gold will be met with.— Edward Green.
Gwynne.—Since I took charge of your mine I have been n prospecting the various leaders and veins traversing the ground, with a very fair show of success. Ou the surface I have obtained very good dish, prospects iodeed, which would justify crushing; but I deem it advisable to follow up the gold until we intersect the leader which throws the gold. This, I anticipate, will be done iv the course of a fortnight. A small leader also strikes through the ground. It bears gold in small quantities, and I purpose following this as well. With the view of ascertaining its value, I inteud putting another man ou at once.—Fbank Tiebnan, Aag. 26th.
Matawai.—The leader that I have cut on Blackmore's boundary on the surface is about six inches thick, and carries a few colors of gold. I have started a drive to out it about 20 feet under the surface. I will have about 15 ft to drive to cut it, so I will be able to see what it will be like next week. Tn tho drive whore I am driving for Barrett's roof, the country is getting better, and I expect; to cut the reef very soon.—Thos. Carrol, August 26th.
Union.—Fair crushing stuff, but do picked stone, has been obtained this week, still a little gold can be seen in the sixmo every day. The reef is about two feet on the floor of the drive and the stone is better looking than that in whioh the gold was got. Work has been started on the lower level from Tiernan's creek, and the reef has been got in the cutting for the face of the tunnel.—C. Mail.
