Borough of Thames Annual Election.

This forenoon the annual nomination of candidates to fill the vacancies in the wards took place, and resulted in the return without opposition of the members for the middle and south wards. Mr McCullough being returned for the middle, and Mr Thomas Veale for the south ward. For the north ward two gentleman were nominated, Messrs Wilson and Fricker. The following were the names of the gentleman signing the nomination papers of the several candidates :— Nobth Ward : Fricker—Messrs McGowan and Miller. Wilson —Messrs Price and Cloonan. Middle Ward: McCullough—Messrs R. N. Smith and E. McDonald. South Ward : Veale—Messrs Stone and Hogg. The Keturning Officer, Mr Win. Davies, accordingly declared Messrs McCullough and Veale duly elected. The polling for the North Ward will take place on the Bth inst.
