The Victorian Government in view of the great increase of the small pox in Sydney, is now taking further precautionary measures against the spread of the disease to this Colony.
A prospectus has been issued here inviting subscriptions to shares to the amount of £20,000, in the Moke Creek Copper Co., Wakatipu, New Zaaland.
Sydney, This day
Two further cases of small-pox in the city are announced. The sufferers are Margaret Lindsay, residing in Sussex street, and a youth living in a lane off Abercrombie street.
Brisbane, This clay,
A private telegram has been received from London announcing that John Hurley has completed the floating of the Burrum Company, with a capital of 150,000, of which £10,000 is reserved for Queensland shareholders. The scheme included the purchase of the principal mines near Burrum and the establishment of a shipping depot at Frozen Island.
