HUXTABLE will give ADVICE GRATIS to Patients at his Residence, Pollen street, every TUESDAY and FRIDAY, at 2 o'clock p.m. 2594 TO THE RATEPAYERS OF THE KAUAERANGA RIDING. /"I ENTLBiMEN, —We are called uoon to ijT elect a member for a seat in the Thames County Council, to represent oar interest in that august body. Let us first study which is the best of the two candidates for that position. Now, gentlemen, we will begin with Mr Greenville. To his influence and integrity as a Councillor we owe a great deal. First, all the pledges given by him at his election have been carried out; and, secondly, Mr Greenville, by his usual tacfc, obtained a sum of money as a special vote from the Native Minister, Mr Sheehan, to be expended on golclfields roads in our particular district. ArgStfe Mr Greenville, ■• aviug his all at stake io our Riding, will undoubtedly do (as be has doneV all he can to develop the goldfield in our district. Now, gentlemen, we will deal with.M> Bull. . Has, Mr Bull ever appeareJ before the public as a politician, or as he ever appeared as a prominent man in any question that affected the interests of the Thames Goldfields ? Has he ever lost one hour to discuss any question for the benefit of the ratepayers of this riding ? I answer no ? If Mfr Bull is the clever young man he is represented to be, it is a pity he did not come before us at the last election, instead of " hiding his light under a bushel," and coming before the ratepayers to contest a eeat in the Thames County Council for a paltry three months, and appearing from under the wing of Mr B*eW« like a half fledged chicken. Mr Bull never having appeared before the public on any important question effecting their interest*, I can only suppose that his wisdom in so doing at the present time arises from the fact that, like Elijah receiving his mantle of wisdom from Eli aha, so as he from Mr Deeble. I am sorry Mr Bull is led bj the nose in such a manner, and regret the unwise itephe has taken.. Had he waited for the general election, as a majority of ratepayers think in all fair play he should have done, many as well as I, would have done their best to secure his return, but who will most assuredly now, vote against him— "'■' For Deeble is a cunning chiel, . ■ ■. And arie who likes his folks so weel, „'., His bodies' ?n»a.* he knew na fear, . 1'" Biitnsaun look 'oot for Andrew dear. —Yours truly, . Txbo. August 16tb, 1881.
